Inns of Argentina will take a 20% non-refundable deposit upon confirming your reservation. In Misiones province, 98km from the mighty falls at Iguassu, just off the road leading 200km west towards Posadas with its famous Jesuit Missions. The estancia was established as an yerva mate plantation by immigrants from New Zealand in 1923, who built the main house and outbuildings in a typical English colonial style. Today the grandchildren of the founder run Las Mercedes as a cattle ranch and country hotel. There's a pool in the attractive grounds, and horse riding and canoeing are included in the rates. Las Mercedes opens its gates to the visitor to enjoy a country stay, lodging at the main house of the establishment, with all the necessary comforts to make our visitors feel at home. The house is of single-storey wooden construction, surrounded by rolling forested hills. There are 5 guestrooms with private bathrooms. There is a small pool too. At lunch typical meals are served; meat and different kinds of fish, Paraguayan soup, tapioc, and fresh salads. At tea time: pastries, homemade cakes, pies and scones. At dinner: Home-made dishes and desserts.

Notes Riding, trips around the farm (today they raise Hereford cattle and still grow some yerba mate, the local tea), canoeing on the local rivers, visits to the Missions, the nearby semi-precious stone mines at Wanda, or the Iguassu Falls just.
Full day outing (activities, lunch and tea) is 70 US per person and Half Country day (activities and tea) is 40US per person.

If the reservation is cancelled 7 days or more prior to arrival there is no charge from the hotel. If cancelled 7 days or less prior to arrival, the hotel will charge one nights stay. In case of no-show, 100% of complete stay will be charged by the hotel.

We got a very warm welcome by the owner. We felt immediately at home in this beautiful environment. The food was very good, the service excellent and the house was really nice. The possibility to ride horses without any previous experience was great. We made a interesting tour through the area.
We were sorry that we could only stay 1 day, we would have loved to stay much longer
