This attractive little inn in Tilcara is a pleasant surprise. With its low-roofed drawing room, once the workshop of painter Merado Patnjoa, it is now filled with an art exhibition. The earth-coloured rooms, all with a private bathroom, have llama tapestry and cane furniture and have pleasant views of the garden or of the Humahuaca Canyon. The building has thick stone walls and in the centre is a patio where, at night, candles and a big fire are lit and Andean musicians often play. Traditional design and architecture have been the theme of the restoration of this small, atttractive inn in the village of Tilcara, 90km from San Salvador de Jujuy. Guests may dine at the nearby Rincon de Fuego, a sister-hotel. This hotel is in the heart of Tilcara - MSN shows Tilcara in the wrong place.
