Located in the town of Tilcara (2474 mts above sea level), surrounded by colourful tree-covered hills, scented lavender and lit by the constant sun of the Humahuaca Quebrada, is the small, friendly inn Posada con los Angeles. The inn has eleven guestrooms - seven superior rooms and four estudio rooms (which are bigger than the superior rooms). All the guestrooms face the garden, which is the heart of the inn, and all have panoramic views to the Pena Alta and Huichaira Hills. The rooms are spacious, with a little hall and fireplace and the full bathrooms feature sandstone and have shower and hairdryer. The building is of a regional-modern style incorporating local building techniques (adobe walls and cane roof covered with matting) with smooth cement floors. The furnishings are natural and confortable with a neutral colour scheme. There are many reproductions of angels - hence the name - from the school of Cuzco, the originals of which can be found in the colonial churches of Uquia and Casabindo. The restaurant is intimate with big garden-facing windows. The chef combines international cuisine with a variety of local ingredients from the Quebrada.
