It is spread out over 10 rolling hectares of centenary trees alongside the meandering river Las Arcas. A private and secluded place with a friendly and helpful owner (she is an ethno-photographer and textile producer). There are just two pleasant guest suites (including private bathrooms), one with fireplace. There is a drawing room, library with fireplace, dining room, covered veranda and outdoor patio with amazing views of the Andes. The rooms have wi-fi internet access and telephone and you can enjoy a gourmet breakfast each morning and a local wine and cheese tasting late afternoon. The entire house may also be rented. The Finca produces its own vegetables, walnuts, herbs and beans – all organic. Eggs and honey come from nearby farms. Lunch and dinner can be arranged for approximately $15 per person, and there are several restaurants within a fifteen minute drive. Adriana, the owner, will be happy to arrange personally-designed tours, expeditions and treks in the Calchaqui Valleys, the Puna, Salt Lake and Quebrada de Humahuaca. Take a gourmet picnic with you and enjoy the archaeological sites. A private car and driver can be arranged for transportation from the airport in Salta to Finca Santana (and there is also a bus option). The owner speaks English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. This little property has garnered some excellent press in the New York Times and the guestbook is full of glowing praise for tranquility of the location and friendly owner. Note that there is minimum two night stay in high season and it is an adults-only property. The final balance payable at checkout should be paid in cash please. Click to make a request for this hotel
