Algodon Wine Estates

Ricardo Jurado (Jr.) and his father (part of one of the most traditional families of Argentinian golf) were invited to San Rafael, Mendoza in 1995 to provide technical assistance for a group of golfers in the construction of a golf course. As a result of that trip, they fell in love with the region and its wines. Thus, the Jurado’s dream begun with the purchase of a “finca”, which they called “Viñas del Golf” and where they fused two of their great passions: golf and wine. As a result of the recent integration of the exclusive brand Algodon Wine Estates, the development expands significantly, thus becoming the largest eno-tourism project in the region. The Lodge was built from an antique house of the property, which originally had adobe walls, cane roofs, and a rustic but cozy living room. The bedrooms were refurbished, turning them into suites, with every modern amenity to make guests feel like "at home". The outdoor gallery, the swimming pool with a solarium and the garden call for the best relax. The suites feature satellite TV, wi-fi internet, air conditioning and a fireplace. The country-style cuisine restaurant –with a strong “Cuyo” distinctiveness- is yet another attraction. All meals are elaborated with organic products typical of this region, being wood the sole energy source to cook them. Each dish conveys a fusion of modern and traditional cuisine. The open fireplace and the quietness o the place can stop time with the long after-dinner friendly chitchat and the coffee cup. In 2007, the Restaurant was granted the “Premio de Oro” (Golden Award) in the contest organized by the Great Wine Capitals in the category “Best Eno-tourism-related Restaurant”. San Rafael features an airport with direct flights from and to Buenos Aires.
