Haras Ampascachi

At Haras Ampascachi, tradition and nature combine -- a meeting place for Argentine hospitality and a fascinating place for those interested in horses, particularly the Peruvian Paso breed. Haras Ampascachi is located in the Traslasierra Valley, encircled by one of the most beautiful and wildest sceneries in the Province of Cordoba, and it is only a two-hour drive from the Cordoba International Airport. Accommodation is in a beautiful colonial cottage from the mid XIX century, in the architectural style of the typical Jesuit tradition of the time. The cottage has eleven rooms, a dining-room, a library, gaming and TV rooms, combining the traditional colonial structure with modern comfort and the highest quality service, in a cosy and warm atmosphere which can be enjoyed all year round. Set in an attractive park, surrounded by irrigation streams, the reading places and little viewing areas offer special views over the magnificent hilly landscape dominated by the Quebrada (Gorge) and crowned by a sky of supernatural beauty. In the dining room every dish is carefully thought out and prepared to please the senses, integrating the traditional recipes and cooking techniques with local ingredients. Grilled meats are also part of the menu, accompanied by excellent Argentine wines from Haras Ampascachi's own cellar. At breakfast, the house is filled with the aroma of freshly baked traditional breads, patisseries and sweets, all home-made.
